Bred and trained to race, most of our retired horses were professional racehorses, working from an early age to make money for their owners and trainers. But once their racing career was over, if they were not suitable for breeding, their future was uncertain.

The cost of sponsoring a thoroughbred is $150/month for feed and care, and can be made through a tax-deductible payment on a month-by-month basis. We accept one-time donations and partial sponsorships on behalf of any UPF horse-in-need!

Some of our retirees were donated and pensioned by the former owners, but most are not. Several were picked up at feedlots on their way to slaughter. Please consider helping theses horses live their lives out respectfully by sponsoring a horse through a tax-deductible donation today.
