The United Pegasus Foundation (UPF)
is a
501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 1994. We are
dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating,
and retiring horses.
UPF has become one of the largest thoroughbred retirement, rehabilitation and adoption organizations, saving hundreds of former racehorses from slaughter by giving them a humane and deserved retirement.
With an operating cost of approximately $350,000 a year, UPF relies on volunteers and the generosity of donors to perform its mission and maintain its well-equipped farm with a carrying capacity of more than 100 horses.
HAY HAY HAY
The cost of hay here in California is still crazy. All year we have been paying between $15.00 to $18.00 per bale of alfalfa and they are not even good heavy bales, so they don't go very far.
We are continuing our fund raising efforts, as over the winter months, the loads of alfalfa will increase in price.
Each truck and trailer load costs, as of now, approximately $8,500.00, which will last about 8 weeks.
Please help by donating towards our hay fund as we have to provide food for our horses.
We would like send out a big thank you to the following organizations for all your support!
CARMA (California Retirement Management Account)
TCA (Thoroughbred Charities of America)
